This painting was inspired by a trip through the Hill Country of Texas. A friend was showing us the ranch where he worked as a young man. Since it was springtime, the Texas Bluebonnets were in their full glory. I took the photo on a day that was grey and dreary. I used quite a bit of artistic license to make it a bright spring day.
