The Fantastic Mr. Fox
The reference photo for this piece has the most beautiful light gently bathing the fox's face and I knew it was meant to be painted with pastels. I used a new surface for me, ArtPad paper made by Stifflex. It is a wonderful surface for the harder pastels and I really enjoyed piecing this fox together with bold, chunky marks (which are my favorite). I used a pop of fluorescent pastels to give that light a little boost and Mr. Fox was born!
