What just happened? This was my first thought at the end of a caregiving journey. Imagine taking in a beautiful blue sky surrounded by breathtaking scenery, and next tumbling and falling and hurting. Being hit by an avalanche is the perfect metaphor for being a caregiver to a family member with Alzheimer's disease.
