The favorite fishing hole

This piece depicts a favorite fishing hole. I used 400 grit UArt paper and started by laying in large areas using Terry Ludwig pastels. Fine details were added with pastel pencils. It was a fun and challenging piece because I really wanted to show the transparency of the water with the rocks in the river bed, but at the same time also show the highlights of the sun striking the water on the surface.
