Nyckelhål
12x16 pastel of a Swedish hardwood forest, which is mostly comprised of birch trees. Completed in the second half of 2022. The surface is a burnt sienna toned wove paper, generic wove paper not Canson Mi Teintes. Inspired by early 20th century pastels that were done on similar wove paper. I wanted to create the effect of looking at an illuminated scene through a keyhole, thus the name. The pastels used are 90% Sennelier and Schminke, with some Diane Townsend, Blue Earth and Nupastel as well.
