This painting was inspired by a photograph I took on a very early morning walk while visiting Bar Harbor, Maine. As I watched the sunrise, there was a red glow in the sky and on the water. It reminded me of the adage: Red sky at night, sailor's delight. Red sky at morning sailor's take warning.
