Floating on Reflections

This painting was started on-site during a plein air session at a nearby farm and winery. I was able to complete the background and some of the lilies at that time but then completed it in the studio. I loved the reflections of the clouds, trees and nearby apple trees on the still water on this beautiful day. I can still hear the frogs croaking as I was working beside the pond. Water lilies are always a romantic subject that I couldn't resist.
