The Secrets of Old Mill Creek

The Secrets of Old Mill Creek, Emerging Pastel Artist
The Secrets of Old Mill Creek
A young boy stands on the ruins of an old saw mill at the edge of Old Mill Creek, and gazes into the forest of ancient redwood trees. The air is moist but warm, and the water is just cool enough to welcome his toes and give a thrill. I found that the Art Spectrum paper was perfect for both these pieces and the pastels are as easy to create the trunks of towering redwood trees as they are making the water and figure. I am new to pastels, having been an oil painter, and am thrilled at their portability and pure pigment.
