The Joyful Competitor
This is a portrait of my niece, Caroline, before she went on to perform her next dance competition.
She is so joyful in her dance competitions and she looked so cute in her outfit.
I made my own support using a cold press illustration board with a pumice gesso mixture. I used a variety of pastels: nupastels for smaller details, Girault, Terry Ludwig, Unison and Blue Earth pastels. She was such a joy to paint!
