Her Hands
When someone is 96, all pretense and upkeep is set aside. There is a shredding between the world of life and the world beyond .. the tattered and fraying image of a life completely spent through creating, caring, and loving, is revealed in the strength and expression of Her Hands.
I painted this, just for myself, in the week after her passing to help me process the loss.
