Ocean Rumble
This is a pastel using Sennelier oil paints and Stabilo woodies. Done over four hours, I reached for the shape of waves in the ocean, rising and falling, with an emphasis on the beauty of the variation in color of the wave dispersing on the sand. This was the first time I used Sennelier oils, and I was able to capture a dramatic sky as well as the sea. It is 12" high and 9" wide, and even at that relatively modest size, it has a presence and some dynamic elements.
