My Special Place

I was inspired to paint this scene that I discovered after following a side stream off a path deep in the Ozark Mountains because it was so tranquil, inviting me to sit, listen to the sounds of the water hitting rocks and splashing in the pool below. No other people, only me. I prepped a piece of illustration board with liquid gesso, as I didn't have any pastel paper this size. Soft pastels were used, a combination of Sennelier and a couple Terry Ludwig.
