Lily Pond Launch
Being a gardener myself, I was attracted to the maintenance area of Monet's Giverny lily pond. I was delighted to be able to take a reference photo of the small skiff staff used to float around the pond and clean debris. I used a combination of iridescent watercolor and alcohol wash to create an underpainting, then painted on top with soft pastel, to represent the feel I had when I was there.
