Canyon Drapery

I live on the leeward side of Kauai island where our Waimea Canyon is the inspiration for this piece. There are always rainbows from the tradewinds blowing clouds over the mountains and our waterfalls flow or trickle, depending on the time of year. I paint this area as often as I can en plein aire, but doing a studio pastel is much more fun with all my colors right at my finger tips.
