Ohia

Ohia is a type of unique Hawaiian tree that is disappearing in the wild due to invasive diseases. This particular tree graces the rough road into the interior of Kauai's mountainous hunting area, where my sons and I love to hike. Painting these trees is my way of paying tribute to the past dense groves of trees that once covered the island. This is also a studio painting as I wanted to do a larger piece.
