Sanctuary
This "Sanctuary" is a place where I walk my dog every morning. The paths winding among the bamboo forest and fence row of aligned Osage trees open to reveal an oxbow created by the meandering stream. My kids used to call it Mesopotamia because they were referring to their history lesson on the land between rivers. The rushing sounds of water make it a peaceful place where you might discover a blue heron fishing, deer grazing or water strider insects inscribing endless rings of ripples. This painting is a story of time ever changing and also infinitely available when you pause to drink in the moment.
